Albert Clayton Good, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 91, in San Marcos, Texas. He was born on July 6, 1934 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, the son of Morris Elvin Good and Nellie Mae (Hunter) Good. Albert grew up in a Christian home that taught him the importance of faith, family, hard work, kindness, and education. Albert is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Gwendolyn, his sisters Dorothy Bodle and Betty Wolf, and his brothers Morris and Earl Good. He is survived by his loving children, Kurt and Wanda, 12 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren. Albert graduated from Williamsport High School in 1952 and went on to serve in the US Army in Germany. After completing his military service, he attended Lycoming College and earned a teaching degree there. He later earned a master’s degree from the University of Maryland. On August 31, 1957, Albert married the love of his life, Gwendolyn Kay Hetrick of York, PA. They were married for 59 years until her sudden passing in 2017. Together, they welcomed two children into their lives: son, Kurt Good and daughter, Wanda Good Hein. He was a loving husband and father that cared well for his family. Albert served 29 years as an elementary school teacher and Vice Principal in the Baltimore County and Harford County School systems. His passion for teaching has left a lasting impact on the lives of many students. After retiring in 1989, he and Gwendolyn enjoyed many active years together. Albert was a member of several churches over the years depending on where they lived. More recently, he became a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in San Marcos, TX where he found fellowship and loving support. He previously was a member of the Lions Club in Bel Air, MD and actively participated in the Good Sam and Thousand Trails Camping Clubs, sharing his love for camping and travel. In his younger days, Albert loved to hunt with his brothers and friends. While raising their family, our MD home, the farm and Bethany Beach were often family gathering places. They enjoyed extensive camping and travel for many years. In retirement, they loved spending the winter months in Florida and he became an avid reader. A private memorial service will be held in San Marcos, TX to honor Albert’s life, date TBD. A family grave-side service in Williamsport, PA will be held at a later date TBD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Albert's name be made to the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org/.
