Bobby J. Kinser, age 98, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, in San Marcos, Texas. He was born on July 11, 1927, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Joe Kinser and Katherine Wise Kinser, and grew up in Taylor, Texas. Bobby graduated from Taylor High School, where he played varsity football for the Taylor Ducks.

Bobby married Virginia Mae Kinser in 1952, and they shared 72 years of love, faith, and devotion. He is survived by his children Bobby Wayne Kinser and Barbara Ann Colletti (and her husband Nick); grandchildren Nicole Hocutt (and her husband Logan) and Jonathan Watson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Dorthy, Katherine, Betty, and Clifford.

Bobby’s life was defined by service, integrity, and faith. He served as Deputy Sheriff of Williamson County, Texas Highway Patrolman, and most notably as Sheriff of Hays County from 1965 to 1976. His commitment to justice and fairness earned him the respect of his community. He was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, where his faith guided every aspect of his life.

Family, friends, and community were central to Bobby’s life. He was a humble man of integrity who cherished time spent with loved ones, enjoyed traveling, and shared his faith openly. Bobby’s warmth, devotion, and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
