Obituary For Coy Blain Murray

With heavy hearts, yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the passing of Coy Blain Murray, who left this world peacefully on February 13, 2026, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born on January 9, 1957, in Fort Hood, Texas, Blain was a beacon of humor and joy, touching countless lives with his genuine spirit and infectious laughter.

Blain was the cherished son of Sylvia Murray and the late Coy James Murray. From a young age, he displayed an unyielding passion for sports, cheering fervently for his beloved Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys. His enthusiasm for athletics shaped his formative years and remained central to who he was throughout his life. Blain was also known for his love of animals, there was not a stray animal he would not help.
For two decades, Blain shared a beautiful partnership with Kim Stanley, who stood by him with unwavering love and support until he took his last breath. His legacy lives on through his daughters, Ginger Murray, Gertie Wilson, and Mattie Utley, and her husband, Ben. He was a proud grandfather to Goldie and Tillie Wilson, and Lincoln Heith, whose laughter echoes the joyous spirit Blain was known for.

Blain is also survived by his mother, Sylvia, and his brothers, Mark and Kelly Murray, each bearing witness to the strength that defined Blain's character. His extended family includes bonus children Ashley Mills and her husband, along with their children, Liam, Grey and Brayden, and Billy Stanley, all of whom cherished the warmth and humor Blain brought into their lives.

Though he has left this earthly realm, Blain's will be remembered for his ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He was a man who never met a stranger, always ready with a joke and a smile.

A private service will be held to honor Blain's life. For those who wish to pay tribute to Blain's compassionate nature, the family suggests donations to the Humane Society of New Braunfels, reflecting his love for animals. Contributions can be made at https://hsnba.org/ or Town and Country Optimist Foundation at Donate - T&C Sports. T&C is an organization that provides scholarships to kids in low-income families so that they can play sports.

As we bid farewell to Blain, we celebrate a life filled with laughter, love, and a spirit that will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Blain, knowing that your legacy of joy and connection lives on in every heart you touched.

Family requests no flowers.
