David Garrison Obituary

David Joseph “DJ” Garrison, 40, passed away on November 15, 2025. Born on November 14, 1985, in Beverly, Massachusetts, DJ grew up in Beverly and later in North Reading.

DJ was passionate about everything aviation. From fixing to flying planes, he lived for the skies. A true “Top Gun” at heart, he embraced life with the same daring spirit and joy he felt soaring above the clouds. He also loved motorcycles, adventure, photography, and anything that gave him an adrenaline rush. DJ had a natural talent for fixing things; if something was broken, he found a way to bring it back to life.

He was a proud member of the Deaf community, the softball community, and the motorcycling community. DJ also gave back as a mentor and coach in various sports and activities. He left a lasting impact on everyone he coached and mentored.

DJ’s greatest joy in life was being a father. His children—Madison (16), Haley (15), Brady (13), and Layla (9)—were the center of his world. He supported them, encouraged them, and loved them with his whole heart.

He is survived by Michelle Giterman, the woman he was going to spend the rest of his life with; his mother, Janice Garrison; his father, David Garrison; and his sisters, Nicole Garrison and Christine Crowley. He is also remembered with love by Jennifer Garrison, the mother of his children.

DJ is further survived by his nieces and nephews—Tyler Furzland, Reese and Benjamin Crowley, and Jaxon and Zoe Crossen; his brothers-in-law, CJ Furzland and Patrick Crowley; and his sister-in-law, Kristen and Jennifer Crossen. He also leaves behind Michelle’s daughter, Brooklyn Giterman, whom he loved as his own. He is loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, co-workers, and many others whose lives he touched through friendship, work, and coaching.

DJ had a presence that could fill any room. His humor was effortless, his kindness genuine, and his ability to brighten someone’s day was simply natural. He lived life full throttle, leaving memories that will continue to lift spirits and inspire those who knew him.

Those who wish to honor DJ’s memory may contribute to this GoFundMe supporting his family through this time of loss.

A celebration of DJ’s life will take place on November 23rd from 12–4 p.m. in the gym at Beverly School for the Deaf, located at 6 Echo Ave, Beverly, MA 01915. Service will begin at 1 p.m. DJ would want everyone to dress casually! Wear Vans, sports shirts, T-shirts, sneakers, or anything that feels comfortable. May we come together to honor DJ’s memory and celebrate the incredible life he lived.
