Obituary For Deanna Ruth Moccia
Deanna Ruth Moccia, 65, passed away peacefully in her home on January 22, 2026. A longtime resident of Manchaca, Texas, Deanna lived a life filled with love, family, and adventure.
She married her middle school sweetheart and one true love, Eric “Ricky” Moccia, with whom she shared a beautiful marriage of 45 years. Together they raised one son, Matthew. Matthew later married Katie and they had one son, Eric “Charlie” Moccia. Deanna was the best Nanna in the world to her grandson, Charlie - they shared countless moments cuddling, reading stories, baking cookies anytime he asked, and laughing together over games of all kinds.
Deanna loved playing dice games and truly any game that brought family and friends together. Many summers were spent out at Camp Ben McCulloch winning numerous ice cream trophies, telling stories and enjoying creek time that will be cherished forever. Her yearly trips to Port Aransas with the entire family were highlights of her life—always filled with sunshine, laughter, and the familiar feeling that the trip was never quite long enough.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Debbie; brother, Robert and father, Robert Clarady Sr.
Deanna is survived by her beloved husband Ricky; son Matthew and daughter-in-law Katie; grandson, Charlie; mother Jo Annette Clarady; two brothers, Henry and Mac.
She worked for many years at Railroad Commission, but eventually stepped away to be fully present for Matt throughout his high school and college years—something she treasured deeply. When Ricky retired, they embraced a life of adventure together. Their road travels took them through countless small towns, quaint bars, mountain views, and quiet forests, always side-by-side. They especially cherished their time in Rockport, their home away from home, breathing in the salt air and sharing many memories—often with a favorite beverage at the Sugar Shack.
A celebration of Deanna’s life will be held at Moontower Saloon in Austin, Texas, on February 7 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friends and loved ones are invited to come and go as they wish.
Deanna will be remembered for her warmth, her joyful spirit, her deep love for her family, and her gift for making every moment feel special. Her presence will be profoundly missed and forever cherished.
