Obituary For Deborah Lee Bowen

Deborah Lee Bowen, lovingly known as Debbie and most cherished as Mimi, passed away on March 24, 2026, at 4:32 PM, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 20, 1961, in Jefferson City, Tennessee.

Debbie was adopted and raised by the most amazing parents, Earleen and Daniel Helton, who gave her a life filled with love and strength. She is now reunited in heaven with her mother, Earleen Helton, and her four sisters who preceded her in passing.

Debbie leaves behind a family who adored her deeply, including her daughter, Jessica Muniz, and son-in-law, Michael Muniz. She was a proud and devoted Mimi to her grandchildren, Maximus Muniz, Raelynn Muniz, and Cade Groeneveld, and a loving great-grandmother to Quinton Groeneveld. She is also survived by her father, Daniel Helton; her brother, Marvin Williams; and her sister, Margie Axton. Debbie’s love extended far beyond her immediate family to her many nieces and nephews, including Bryce Barry and Amanda Miller, along with countless others whose lives she touched.

Debbie had a vibrant personality and a heart that gave endlessly. She was a devoted Tennessee Volunteers fan and a passionate supporter of Jeff Gordon. Her favorite color was Tennessee orange, a reflection of her bold and spirited nature. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—sipping on a Sunkist, enjoying chocolate ice cream, and even her quirky love of eating ice.

One of Debbie’s greatest joys was creating beautiful jewelry, which she lovingly gifted to friends, family, and anyone she felt could use a little extra sparkle. Giving was her love language, and she gave freely, selflessly, and without hesitation. She had a way of making everyone feel special, seen, and loved.

Above all, Debbie will be remembered for her generous heart, her strength, and the deep love she poured into her family. The title she cherished most was “Mimi,” and the legacy she leaves behind lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

She will be deeply missed every day but forever carried in our hearts.
