In Loving Memory of
Donald W. Kiesling

August 7, 1961 – September 7, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald W. Kiesling, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend, who left this world on September 7, 2026 in New Braunfels, Texas. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, he was a true embodiment of Southern warmth and charm.

Donald was the eldest son of Bob and Betty Kiesling and the devoted husband of 45 years to his beloved wife and high school sweetheart, Kathy, with whom he shared a life filled with love, laughter, and countless adventures. Together, they raised two wonderful sons, Dustin and Jon Kiesling, who, along with their wives, Jessica and Morgan, brought immense joy to Donald’s life. His legacy continues through his four treasured grandchildren: Katie, Riley, Averie, and Addie, who were the lights of his life.

Donald's family also includes his brother Rick Kiesling, and his wife Kim; his in-laws Donna, Doug, Donald & Barbara Vaughan, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were dear to him. His loyal lap dog, Buzz, was a faithful companion, always willing to go for a ride with Donald in his power-chair or just lay quietly with him.

A man of many passions, Donald was known for his love of books and his fascination with dragons and all things medieval. He found joy in attending Renaissance festivals, often dressed
in costume, and enjoying the whole experience of sights, sounds, smells, and merriment. He had a playful spirit, evidenced by the hidden stash of candy he kept wherever he went, a delightful secret that brought smiles to those lucky enough to discover it. His family and friends
will always smile as they pass the local On The Grind coffee stop where he liked to get his daily “fix” of a large white chocolate mocha, extra sweet, with whipped cream.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Christus Santa Rosa hospital staff who provided gentle and compassionate care to Donald and his loved ones during his final days. Their kindness will never be forgotten.

A special thank you to Hope Hospice for helping us to navigate this extremely difficult time.

Donald’s warmth, humor, and love have left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. While we mourn his absence, we are forever grateful that he is with God and is no longer in constant
pain or suffering.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Oakwood Baptist Church, 2154 Loop 337 North, New Braunfels, Texas 78130 with a reception to follow at the church.
