Sarah was born June 19, 1952 in Alice, TX to Father Otto Sachtleben and Mother Bettie Jo Boggus and passed away September 15, 2026, in Seguin, TX. Sarah married Derald Gregg while living in California. They soon moved back to her home state of Texas where they purchased their beloved ranch on the Guadalupe River in Seguin. She was believer in Christ and in the power of prayer. She enjoyed spending time with her family & friends at their ranch where many cherished memories were made.

Sarah loved sharing their little oasis by floating the river, swimming, huge bonfire parties, endless fishing and family camping trips that hold a special place within the family. One of Sarah’s most favorite things was story telling, singing 90’s & classic country songs around the campfire & sparking up laughter with her infamous “Grandma jokes” that never disappoint. Even during times of hardship, she had a very unique energy and gift to spread laughter. Sarah was a true believer in the power of prayer, and as such she embraced all parts of life and believed fully in God’s forgiveness and love.

Throughout the years, she enjoyed watching her family pass down some of the same river traditions, which brought another generation of lifelong, beloved memories that will be cherished for years to come. Sarah was known for being her strong, and true authentic self at all times & with a personality nobody could replicate and will forever be remembered. She lived life to the fullest, let the good times roll, pushed through the hard days all while holding onto her faith.

Their beautiful place on the river became a sanctuary for many to unwind from life for any reason or excuse. She enjoyed her family visiting anytime they could & enjoyed being a “grandmother with the river” to all of her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. She would count the days for the next visit, as this became what she cherished most of all in her later years of life. The ranch gates were always open to loved ones, as were her arms if ever in need of a hug. “Everyone should get 4 hugs a day” was Sarah’s favorite saying.

Sarah is survived by her husband, Derald Gregg of Seguin, TX; 1 daughter, Sarah Audry (Roberts) Mahan of Temple, TX; 1 stepson, Paul David Evans of Conway, SC; 1 stepdaughter, Lisa Gregg of CA; 3 grandchildren, Heather, Rachelle and Zoni; several great grandchildren; 4 nephews; 3 great nieces; 2 great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Otto & Bettie; 1 sister, Charlott Jo Sachtleben (Aunt Pug); 1 stepson Brian Evans; 1 nephew, Sid Kingsberry.
