Obituary For Scott Craig Carley

Scott Carley, a lifelong resident of Seguin, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. He was a 1975 graduate of Seguin High School and remained deeply rooted in the community throughout his life.

Scott was born to Evelyn and Bob Carley and was the second of four boys. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister-in-law, Sharen Carley.

He is survived by his brothers, Jeff Carley, Spencer Carley (Jami), and Stuart Carley (Mary Beth), along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Scott married the love of his life, Betty Carley, and became a devoted father to her children, Kenneth Wick (Rebecca) and Melissa Walls (Taylor), whom he loved as his own. Together, they built a life centered on family and unwavering love.

His greatest joy was being “Papu” to his grandchildren, Rylan, Cason, Bowen, and Harper.

Scott owned and operated SC Services, specializing in garage doors and electrical work. He was known for his strong work ethic, skill, and the lasting relationships he built with his customers.

A true cowboy at heart, Scott loved calf roping and the rodeo. He spent many years at the Guadalupe County Fairgrounds, where he formed lifelong friendships and memories.

He will be remembered for his bright blue eyes, white hair, and a personality that filled a room. He was a loyal friend and will be deeply missed.

As a cowboy, Scott has taken his final ride.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rylan Trost, Cason Trost, Bowen Walls, Harper Wick, and special friends Clint Walter and Tracy Benavides.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held 2 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 at Gerth Party Barn, 6655 I-10 W, Marion, TX 78124 and will be officiated by Chaplain Emmanuel Carpenter.
