Obituary For Sylvan Lee De Jardo

Sylvan Lee DeJardo, also known as Shane or DJ, from Canyon Lake, Texas passed away at the age of 74 on May 13, 2026, in San Marcos, Texas where he was surrounded by his family.

To know Sylvan was to know strength, humor, and unwavering love for family. He was fearless, determined, and the kind of man who always got the job done. But beyond that tough exterior was someone deeply devoted to the people he loved most.

Sylvan proudly dedicated 24 years of his life to serving in the United States Navy before going on to build his successful family fishing business, Fisherman’s Corner at Canyon Lake, Texas. During retirement he found joy in surfing, Zumba, going to the gym, sharing stories, and spending time with his family. He was personable, honest, adventurous, and a true goofball who could make those around him laugh effortlessly.

Sylvan is preceded in death by his parents, Rubin Lee and Janet Ellen Vermillion DeJardo, his sister Frances Gail Wojniak and his brother Albert Louis DeJardo. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Rosalind Blas DeJardo; his sister, Deborah Ellen Noble(David); his three daughters, Christina Angela Dorman(Walter), Jessica Lee Blas DeJardo(Veronica), and Denise Ann DeJardo; his nine grandchildren Brittany Lee DeJardo, Madison Rose Castillo, Alex Gabriel Tovar, Erin Maria Dorman, Rheagan Alia Garcia(Julian), Kendrick Clinton Henson(Abigail), Thomas Hunter Dorman, Aubree Ann Linzer and Gavin Lee DeJardo; his great grandchildren Lorenzo, Layla and Leia Castillo; Isabella, Amelia and Iris Garcia; and soon to arrive Coast Henson; all of whom he loved deeply.

Sylvan will be remembered for his service to his country, his infectious smile, his larger-than-life stories, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

A memorial service will be held at Legends Tri-County Funeral Home on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 11:00 AM.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his love, laughter, and legacy will live on through the family and friends who carry his memory forward every day. “Fair winds and following seas”.
