Obituary For Timothy Jon Boehm
Timothy Jon Boehm was born to Lester Harvey and Joan Elizabeth (née Spaeth) on August 12, 1963 in Grand Island Nebraska. His father was a Lutheran minister. TJ moved 3 times before he started high school at Martin Luther in Glendale, Wisconsin. He graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School in Milwaukee Wisconsin in 1981. He joined his brother and sister at Texas A&M University in College Station.
He was the youngest of seven children, and took full advantage of this opportunity. He did not feel a need to talk until he was 3 ½ because his brothers and sisters always took care of him.
He had the advantage of watching 4 brothers and 2 sisters do all kinds of things and he learned his lessons well. This also left him as the last child when everyone had departed for work or college. He was the one who had the most fun and a host of friends. Think about it, 16 years to watch 4 older brothers and 2 older sisters do a lot of crazy things.
He started his career at KBTX channel 3 in Bryan – College Status while studying at Texas A&M University. It is there that he met two of his close friends Matt Hutchings and Hub Randel. These men were instrumental in his career as he moved from the control room at channel 3 to a master controller at Houston Sports Entertainment (HSE). HSE served as a stepping stone to a TV production position at STAR TV in Hong Kong.
He moved to Orbit ESPN in Rome and was part of the group that covered the 1994 World Cup across the United States. He followed the team from Saudi Arabia through the group qualifying and onto the quarter finals. The prince later hired him to direct the national TV station for Emirates Media International, in the United Arab Emirates. While in the Middle East he met his wife Dehny (née Belleza). He returned home to the US in the early 2000s with his wife and son, Lester Anjo Belleza Boehm.
Together with his brother Robert, TJ founded Pecan Doctor Tree Spraying and operated vineyards in West and Central Texas.
When his wife Dehny was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, he provided for his family through that difficult time.
Tim was a devout Lutheran who was baptized in Zion Lutheran Church, Worms, Nebraska, and confirmed at St Paul’s Lutheran church in West Allis, Wisconsin.
TJ was an avid fisherman and car enthusiast. His father taught him fishing. TJ grew this skill as he caught king fish in the Gulf of Mexico and sailfish in the Persian Gulf. He fished in numerous rivers and lakes across the United States and held the state record in Texas for Rainbow Trout with a 8.92 lb, 26 ½” fish from the Nueces River.
He is survived by his mother, Joan of New Braunfels Texas, and aunt Betty (nee Boehm) Kohn of Tigerton Wisconsin; Wife – Dehny Belleza Boehm; Son – Lester Anjo Belleza Boehm; Daughter in Law – Maritess Zulueta and her husband Gilbert – children Danielle, Psalm, Lucas, Martha; Brothers Kenneth (Debra) of Colorado Springs Colorado – children Megan Brunet, Adam, and Kenon, Robert of Seguin Texas, Thomas (Judy) of Riverside California – daughter Kimberley Hillenbrand, Daniel (Margaret) of Conroe Texas – children Joshua, Elizabeth Brady, Sarah Gebhardt, Katherine; Sisters Susan (Jeffrey) Prothero of Hortonville Wisconsin – children Leslie, and Deborrah (Keith) Tipton of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin – children Robert, Ryan and Ross.
He is also survived by numerous grand-nephews, grand-nieces and cousins whom he adored and cherished.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Boehm; Uncles: James Spaeth, Kenneth Boehm; Lawrence Kohn; Aunts: Beatrice Boehm and Barbara Boehm; grandparents: Arthur and Esther (Kunkel) Boehm, and Frank and Elsie (Olson) Spaeth.
He loved to be around people and put them at ease. His kindness was always at the forefront of what he did. TJ found signed baseballs, and world cup soccer jerseys for his nephews. He is known to have taught snow skiing in Hong Kong while baby-sitting his friend’s children.
If uncle TJ was in charge, you were going to have a good time. Many stories are told by his nephews and nieces about his exploits and how much fun they had when he was around.
His kindness, generosity, and joy will be missed.
