William Arthur Smith, affectionately known to everyone as "PeeWee," passed away unexpectedly on August 31, 2026, at the age of 61. A lifelong resident of San Marcos, Texas, PeeWee was born on March 6, 1965, to Arthur William Smith Sr. and Mary Louise (Shaw) Smith.

PeeWee grew up in San Marcos and graduated from San Marcos High School. Known for his hard work and sharp eye for detail, he spent his years doing handyman work and truly excelled at detailing cars, a craft he took great pride in.

To know PeeWee was to know a friend. He was well known throughout the Dunbar and La Victoria neighborhood, exceptionally friendly, and never met a stranger, always making it a point to speak warmth and kindness into the life of anyone he encountered. In his spare time, he loved nothing more than hanging out with his family and friends, sharing great conversations, and barbecuing. He also had great skills on the basketball court, and neighbors will fondly remember him cruising through the neighborhood on his bike, waving and checking in on the community he loved so dearly.

PeeWee was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Arthur and Mary Smith; and his brothers, Arthur W. Smith Jr. ("Snake"), Larry Charles Washington, and Wilbert James Adams.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving sisters, Linda Washington Perry (George) and Carolyn D. Smith; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends who will miss his bright smile and easygoing spirit.
