Obituary For Zachary Richard Schubert
Zachary Richard Schubert August 10, 1986 – October 26, 2025, 39, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on October 26, 2025, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma. Zac was born at Fort Benning, Georgia to Tracy Schubert and Donna Clemens and later welcomed a stepfather, Adam Clemens, into his life. He shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings Alyssa Custer, Samantha Cayse, Siara Morrow, Gena Clemens, Kai Britt, Fallon Clemens, and Xander Schubert, his brothers-in-law, Chris Cayse and Lee Morrow. He was a proud uncle to Brett Votion, Charlotte Cayse, Riley Carson, Jack Morrow, and Harrison Cayse. Zac is also survived by his partner, Odessa Carnes, who stood faithfully by his side through every chapter of his journey, and his beloved cat, Side Quest.
After serving in the U.S. Army, Zac pursued his passion for body art and became a professional piercer — a craft he loved and perfected for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, streaming, creating and playing video games, creating digital art, and taking his board out for a skate. Zac refused to be defined by a prognosis. His motto said it all: “I’m not terminally ill — I’m terminally chill.” Through every setback, he inspired others with his laughter, light, and unshakable spirit. Prior to his diagnosis, Zac spent years using his streaming platform to help others — creating accessibility tools for blind and hearing-impaired streamers, captioning movie trailers, and hosting charity streams for children’s hospitals. Known for his quick wit and generous heart, Zac had a rare ability to light up any room he entered. His kindness, authenticity, and selflessness left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Zac faced his illness with remarkable courage and humor, reminding those around him that joy and compassion can coexist even in the hardest moments. His legacy lives on in the love of his family, his friends, and the many lives he touched through his creativity and compassion. A celebration of Zac’s life will be held in New Braunfels, with details to be announced by his family.
